The Chief Medical Officer is a key member of the executive team, engaged in defining the overall business strategy and direction of the organization. This position leads the overall clinical vision for the organization and has direct oversight of the Medical Group. The position provides medical oversight, expertise and leadership to ensure the delivery of affordable high-quality healthcare services.

Job Duties


Clinical Excellence. The CMO will be responsible for ensuring that the Standard of Care is fully implemented and optimized to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Specific duties include:

  • Leads the design, testing/development and implementation of innovative clinical service models. Oversees development and deployment of Wellnest clinical training programs.
  • Oversees the design, development, and implementation of the Wellnest Standard of Care, including standard workflows, performance metrics, policies, procedures, and other elements of medicine programming incorporating evidence-based guidelines.
  • Ensures the development of physician and clinician leadership across the Medical Group based on defined and objective clinical performance metrics, population health analytics, staff input, and patient feedback.
  • Leads recruiting, hiring, training, development, evaluation, and retention standards for the Medical Group including consistent performance, compensation, and career development for practice leadership teams and other employees.
  • Ensures adherence to quality, privacy, security, and other regulatory and compliance standards across the medical group.



Products/Services. The CMO will be responsible for driving Product Innovation within the clinical services throughout the organization. Specific duties include:

  • Partners with the exec team to develop and implement the strategy to deliver exceptional patient satisfaction, efficiency, quality, and profitable growth for business. Shares accountability for the execution of this strategy.
  • In partnership with Product Development and Practice Management functions, leads the design and development, as well as supports the implementation of new health technologies, products, services, and programs that establish the Medical Group as a recognized thought leader in fertility medicine.


Leadership/Strategy. In partnership with Clinical Operations leadership, the CMO is responsible for driving business performance. Specific duties include:

  • Leads the development and implementation of a Medical Group OKRs that supports the organization’s vision and goals.
  • Ensures clinical goals, growth targets, operating performance, financial metrics, and overall practice outcomes are met/exceeded.
  • Develops employee performance by establishing clear goals/expectations, tracking progress against goals, providing timely feedback and addressing issues promptly.
  • Represents corporate clinical interests in business development, promotional outreach, and related presentations to potential clients, partners, and organizations.
  • In partnership with the executive team, responsible for developing and deploying Medical Group strategies to meet or exceed revenue, profit and cash flow commitments to the company.
  • Upholds, safeguards and promotes the organization’s values and philosophy relating to ethics, integrity, and corporate responsibility as referenced in organizational values and philosophy standards


Requirements:

  • Valid, state-issued medical license in good standing and board certification in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional post-residency experience in direct patient care
  • Demonstrated ability to assess business needs, design and implement programs and evaluate results
  • Strategic and innovative thinker with proven ability to communicate a vision, drive results and work collaboratively internally and externally
  • Knowledge of managed healthcare systems, medical quality assurance, quality improvement and risk management
  • Experience and demonstrated successful leadership of case management, disease management and/or population health programs
